Calcinato<\/strong> is a town in the Brescia countryside, with two hamlets,Calcinatello<\/strong>, whose main resource has always been agriculture, and Ponte San Marco<\/strong>, which lies on the road that connects the lake and Brescia, and which has directly experienced some of the clashes that took place in the area in the past. The main village is the administrative heart of the town. In the past it has known thriving moments, thanks to the establishment of the silk industry, and even more so when a cotton mill was started in Ponte San Marco in the early 1900s. \"calcinato\"<\/a><\/div>\n

Calcinato<\/strong> is located between morainic hills, foothills and the beginning of the Po Valley. The area is characterized by two hills and the river crossing Churches, one of the hills is occupied by the center, while the other is mostly agricultural.<\/div>\n

HISTORY OF CALCINATO

In the town of Calcinato<\/strong> there were settlements of the Romans, but there is talk of “Calcinato” only in the ninth century. in a document of the nuns of Santa Giulia. In the Middle Ages it through the three towns of Calcinato, administrative, Calcinatello agricultural area and Ponte San Marco<\/strong> as a strategic point. In 1706, a battle is being fought here between the French and the imperial, won by the French. In the eighteenth century Calcinato<\/strong> become an important center for the production and manufacture of silk.<\/div>\n
