Around the <em>church of San Cassiano<\/em> began to extend the village that was later abandoned due to Hungarian raids which forced the population to take refuge in the hills, where he built the castle over the years became a Ghibelline fortress contention between Brescia and Verona. Contention that last long between <em>Scala<\/em> and Giovanni of Bohemia, son of Henry VII, who took turns in driving the castle until the second half of 1300, when Padenghe along with other towns of the lake asked for the autonomy. In 1509 the governor <em>Leonino Bibbia<\/em> ordered the destruction of the castle, which was not for the intervention of <em>Cardinal D&#8217;Amboise<\/em>.
