{"id":17437,"date":"2014-09-07T11:32:08","date_gmt":"2014-09-07T09:32:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.gardatourism.it\/chiesa-di-san-pietro-in-bosco-2\/"},"modified":"2018-05-05T08:46:42","modified_gmt":"2018-05-05T06:46:42","slug":"church-san-pietro-in-bosco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gardatourism.it\/en\/church-san-pietro-in-bosco\/","title":{"rendered":"Church San Pietro in Bosco"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>The small church San Pietro in Bosco is an ancient building in the southern part of the town of Ala, at the center of a legend that sees it as a meeting place between Teodolinda, daughter of the Duke of Bavaria and Autari, third king of the Lombards, his future husband.<\/h4>\n<div>The Church San Pietro in Bosco is the oldest building in Ala, dating back to the sixth century (as a sacred building to the IX-X) and is an example of minor Romanesque architecture with late 15th and later elements; the fa\u00e7ade has a portal with an architrave surmounted by a single lancet window and with two rectangular windows at the sides preceded by an atrium covered by a wooden roof; inside, the pre-existing Roman buildings of the first rectangular-shaped building have been left visible on the floor, besides the cycle of frescoes representing a Christ above the entrance and Saint George killing the dragon, a milestone was found Roman church of the fourth century now exposed in the municipal library.
