The church remains in an elevated position relative to the center of the town of Torbole and can be reached via two long flights of steps that start from the center of the city

Church S. Andrea, the original building was a chapel dedicated to St. Andrew, the patron saint of fishermen and it is found in some documents already in the second half of the twelfth century. Subsequently, the town of Torbole taken importance for trade via the lake and thus, increasing the population, the church was enlarged. After being destroyed by the French in the eighteenth century the church was rebuilt in the late Baroque style that you can see now. Inside, the church has three naves, the apse is preserved an altar piece by Veronese Giambettino Cignaroli and depicting the Martyrdom of St. Andrew in the aisles are placed two wooden statues of St. Joseph and Our Lady.
