Sanctuary S.Maria Assunta

The sanctuary rises on the morainic heights of Pol, between Pastrenghe and Piovezzano.

Sanctuary S.Maria Assunta seems it was erected in 1676 and built around a wall on which was painted the image of the Virgin Mary holding her Son, the story about a group of boys who were playing throwing stones against the painting, then resumed for that gesture a mysterious voice. Later also the miracle of healing of a young shepherdess seems to have happened in front of that wall. In a short time he was begging the people to allow the construction of the Sanctuary.
The interior features a single nave and in the Renaissance style is enhanced by the beautiful frescoes covering the ceiling, which is the dominating figure of Our Lady of the Assumption. In baroque style are the altar, the dome and the side columns. On the walls of the presence of numerous votive images are a sign of devotion and gratitude.
