Where today now we see Bonoris Castle Montichiari, during the eleventh century there was the fortress town that later assumed a great importance for the defense of the territory.

Bonoris Castle: in 1167 was born the Municipality of Brescia Montichiari and in 1168 he ordered the demolition of the castle , which stood on the hill of San Pancrazio, reducing it to ruins that remained until the end of the nineteenth century. In 189, the City sold it to Count Gaetano Bonoris the fortress , with the obligation to rebuild it with the shape of a castle and so it was built the present castle . Inside are frescoes by the painter Giuseppe Rollini copied from existing ones in some castles in Piedmont , Carlo Alboretti ensued furnishings and furniture, imitating the style and design those of the fortress of Turin. Beautiful within the baronial hall , the armory , with a rich collection and chapel. There is a large stone staircase and above it a painting that represents the martyr St. George down from his horse to death affects the dragon, saving the life of the princess daughter of the King of Silene . The castle has a beautiful park , but the eastern part is covered by a thick forest which makes it impractical, while to the north there is a nice Italian garden . The town of Montichiari as his own most of the land of the castle ( mq.2.2 ) .
