Church San Marco Evangelista

In the hamlet of Borghetto of Valeggio sul Mincio there is a church dedicated to St. Marco.

Church San Marco Evangelista was built in 1759 on the ruins of an ancient Romanesque church dating from the year 1 and dedicated to St. Mary. The church, designed in neoclassical style, has kept a bell of 1381. The churchyard includes marble plaques in memory of the battles fought over this territory. In front of the guest house is hidden within the walls of the old houses, the statue of St. John Nepumoceno, protector of those who risk drowning in the waters of the river.
