Val Borago

the “jungle” of Valpolicella

Val Borago, Lush and wild valley whose name means “canyon valley engraving” or bush, is thought by the Greek “botros”; Is north of Avesa, following the valley of the same name, turns to the left and leads to Montecchio. To reach it you will pass the village of Avesa and after about a kilometer you take a non-asphalt road on the left marked by a sign. The valley is formed by high rocky walls excavated by the creek that appears and disappears on a sinuous path rich in niches dug out of water. At the end of the trail there is an imposing rocky wall of about twenty-five meters which is overcome thanks to an iron staircase leading to a hilly landscape from where you reach Montecchio.
