Pastrengo
località telegrafo - 37010 Pastrengo Vr

The Austrian Fort Poggio Croce (Leopold) is located on the mountain and was built in 1861 to defend the large area to the left of the Adige between Sandrà and Bussolengo. The fire of his artillery in fact crossed with that of the strong Poggio Pol.

Fort Poggio Croce took the name from the Prince Leopold of Dessau-Anahlt which was dedicated. It was with the annexation of the Veneto to the Kingdom of Italy and the consequent transfer of ownership of the fort to the Royal Army, who assumed the name of the mountain Poggio Cross. Unlike the nearby fortifications has a polygonal shape and numerous localetti: fact was born with the aim to host the entire local control. Does not differ instead for positions artillery and for the presence of the ladders.
It currently houses a restaurant
