Sanctuary Madonna del Frassino

The Sanctuary Madonna del Frassino is just a few kilometers from Peschiera del Garda to the hinterland , in an idyllic position on the edge of the Milan- Venice.

In Sanctuary Madonna del Frassino, on May 11, 1510 in times of wars between the Venetians, Spaniards , Frenchmen and Germans came the miraculous event which the protagonist was Bartolomeo Broglia . While working in the vineyard and saw a snake gripped by fear gave a thought to the Virgin Mary asking her to save him, at that moment in the branches of an ash tree materialized statuette of the Virgin Mary. Incredulous took the statuette of the Virgin Mary and took her home . When he tried to take it from the case where the response had not found her , found himself on the ash in the place where it had appeared. On 1 September 1511 , work began to build the sanctuary . When the sanctuary was completed this was entrusted to the Servite before moving in 1514 to the Friars Minor. The monument preserves many works of art, including a table of Zeno of Verona and a nativity Paul Farinati , the eighteenth-century medallions between the arches of the side chapels and the picture above the central door are John Simbenati , but the heart of the sanctuary is the chapel which houses the miraculous statue . Always Farinati the shovel, while the twelve paintings of the vault and the walls are eleven of Bertanza from Salò and the twelfth of Zambrognini .
