Benati House: the forty soldiers, now close to surrender, divided the tricolor flag into forty pieces so as not to deliver it to the enemy and, one each, hid the pieces among their clothes, while the pole was hidden in the chimney. After the captivity, the soldiers found each other and, once they had gathered the pieces they had preserved, they re-sewed the flag, but a fragment was missing, that of a soldier who died during the imprisonment.
