Riviera dei limoni – Alto Garda Park

Riviera dei limoni” is the west coast of the Riviera del Garda in Salo’ goes up to Limone,

famous for its mild climate and its history and includes the Alto Garda Park. This area is rich in history, culture and nature, ranging from the beauty and uniqueness of the villages along the coast, seeing majestic villas and palaces of the past, the lush and wild entering the hinterland, discovering isolated villages in the mountains and valleys. TERRITORY OF RIVIERA DEI LIMONI

The western shore of Lake Garda, called “Riviera dei limoni” for its many lemon trees that characterize it, contains two different territories: the footprint of the Mediterranean coast and the Alpine type in the hinterland. The result is an exceptional biodiversity, plant and animal, within a few kilometers away combines lemon, cypress, ash and olive trees near the lake, forests of oak, beech and mugheti going up into the hills. Its territory is almost entirely composed of mountains and valleys, stretching from the western shore of Lake Garda Trentino north to the border and up to the Sabbia Valley inland. It coincides in part with that of the “Regional Park of Garda Bresciano” whose community includes nine municipalities. This nature reserve established in 1989 houses a Lake Valvestino, home to fishing, and includes the nature reserve of the former Lake Bondo. The highest point of the park is Mount Caplone, with its 1976 meters above sea level Not only the flora but also fauna is rich: 250 species live in the park, including roe deer, red deer, chamois, ibex and eagles among birds.
